1st post for a while

My first post for ages...am trying to madly catch up with work which had all been postponed due to the death of my friend Billy and the consequences of that. Its actually good to get back into it after about 6 weeks of ups and downs....

Mind you the weather made it VERY hard. Shooting a wedding under a 41 degree heat was hard but at least I didnt have a long dress on or a suit...I felt for Hayley and Greg and their bridal party but in the end when you look at the photos you cannot tell it was as hot as it was! In the end it was a lovely day and I have so many lovely shots, here's just a few....

Graeme Billy Baird 1962-2009

My lovely friend Billy died yesterday. Surrounded by his mum, dad and friends he peacefully passed away in his sleep at 8.30am. I was honoured to have been a part of his life and his death. He will be sorely missed by me and many others.

We love you Billy!

All business appointments will be postponed until after his funeral on Friday the 30th January. I thank you for your patience.

Clare and Kris

What an amazing day yesterday! Great location, great light, great bridal party!!....What a fun couple and a privilege to photograph their wedding day. This date was booked soooo long ago and from OS so I didn't actually meet them until last month and I didn't think they would be as hyper! My only regret was missing out on capturing Clare's Dad having a good cry in the church(!) but I am sure he's glad I didn't!

my dear friend Billy

Had and amazing time helping caring for my wonderful friend Billy over the last week. As I said to him it has been very confronting, very scary and very special to be with him at this stage of his life. Took loads of photographs of him, and his friends and family. Here is one he thought looked good on the back of the camera. I love it and I have a few more to post in the next few days or so.

jingle bells, jingle bells.....

Well its that time of year and in about 18 hours I shall have finished work for 2008! Its not that I don't love what I do ( I am almost obsessed with it!) but I am absolutely knackered after an amazingly eventful year. Sold my home, moved twice, built a studio (almost done!), renovating my new home, sold the old car and bought a new one, had my best and busiest year in the business ever, employed some wonderful people, succeeded in the national and local AIPP awards and made sure I spent every Sunday and Monday exclusively with my gorgeous 4 year old son, Henry doing stuff.

I am looking forward to another busy year, with plenty of new stuff happening....it'll be very exciting! So have a wonderful, happy safe Christmas and a great New Year! I shall be on leave probably until the end of the first week in 2009, see you then! (if you get lonely and need to talk to me pop it in an email, ta!

one hour in Queanbeyan 7pm-8pm

Actually went out tonight and did some photography for me, even though I have deadlines (!), it just had to be done! What a great thing to just look at the world without the constraints of business. Trying to find some images to submit for the annual Moran Art Prize. Contemporary life in Australia is its theme, so why go far afield when its so interesting outside your front door!

Claire & Chris fly in from NY!

Had the very great pleasure of capturing Claire and Chris' wedding. Claire looked amazing and the whole wedding was so stylish, elegant and cosmopolitan! Have only a couple of pics here tonight as I will be posting some more soon. Family and friends will be able to see lots when I post the online gallery in a couple of days...but here is a few to tempt you! Claire eyes looked amazing!
